Rationale Ageing policy, research, and markets in USA, Japan and Canada The population ageing is not only a European challenge. Other regions around the world are equally affected by the problem, but may be tackling the challenge in different time frames and solution-finding approaches. Undoubtedly, the varying degrees of severity and time urgency of the problem will trigger certain parts of the global markets before others. The cultural, economical and societal situation of the population will also strongly influence the orientation of the proposed and deployed solutions. Achieving critical mass is clearly a powerful competitive advantage to enable technology adoption. Therefore, the following questions may become the cornerstone issues to global market developments:
These questions will have a strong influence on the development of the European market and, as such, it is important to foster a global perspective when answering them. | |
