I believe that aging well is a matter of striking the right balance between health and social issues. Unfortunately in most countries there is a complete break between health and social providers. But as things stand today, most of the up-front investment has to be borne by the health side of the equation, and most of the long term process design investment by the social part. A business model that cannot allocate fairly and timely the benefits to match the costs of a socio-health project will be a failed model.

Dear Carlos

I agree with your comment. We see a clear indication that AAL market is coming from the medico/health sector. But is there examples of other secots moving in. What about construction companies,,, smart home?? Assisted living Hardware suppliers??
Of course you are right; there are a lot of suppliers that cater for AAL target population. I was thinking more in terms of the complete process of aging well. In this process health and social issues have to be taken into account. The problem, as I see it, is that healthcare and socialcare are funded by different organizations.
